A Beautiful Stain

Stained Glass
Stained Glass

This is the first image in the T3 Project Series. I wanted a background image for my computer and started playing with my T3 logo and images of stained glass I found on the web. It took some effort to get the lead lines looking right, but I was very happy with the image.

This led me to think about other ways I could render the T3, and the T3 Project was born.

Since this was designed to be a computer wallpaper, it is 1920×1200. That set the stage for all subsequent images to be the same size and have the T3 in the same place also. This feature of the T3 Project is intriguing to me because it creates a forced similarity between the various entries, limiting the differences to the media and/or execution.

I used the same idea of limiting only the subject matter and spacial format when I started the AAA Project at Kimray. In that project, various artists render an iconic image in their own medium and with their own interpretation, limited only by finished piece size and the requirement that the AAA silhouette or image be oriented and sized as specified and be recognizable. That project has drawn some very interesting pieces.
