Design concept for a coffee label for Providence Hall. Sanguis Leoninus means “lions blood” in latin. THe school colors are blue and red, so taking the red to go with the “blood” part made sense. The coffee is a fund raising item, so having the number people can call to get more was very important. It was also necessary to make sure they knew they were buying whole bean coffee, the roast type, and what kinds of beans they are.
The decision to use a single label saves money and effort but presents the necessity to present all the info on the front of the product. The goal was to be informative but not too sterile.
