GOK Christmas Cards

For the last several years I have had the privilege of helping my grandfather, Garman Kimmell, make his Christmas card. For over 60 years he has created his own photo Christmas Cards. There is always a theme and many years it took special exposures and development in the darkroom to create his effects (all WAY before digital). When it got to difficult for him to use the darkroom I offered to produce his ideas, his way, only digitally. He agreed and for the first few years I digitally did the masks and cut and paste and then had a negative printed which he exposed and developed on paper in his own darkroom. Then he began to be intrigued with what we could do digitally, and he started letting me do more for him. These were all fun projects to work on with him.
